Glammy does the Congo!

Seems everywhere we go, Glammy is the centre of attraction!  She is wonderfully uninhibited and playful - no wonder these sweet little Asian kids quickly joined in!

Romantic dinner for two

This ice swan filled with fresh fruit was the perfect finish to another perfect day spent with my Glammy.   Penguins, as you are well aware, spend a lot of their time on ice floes in the Arctic.  It was only natural to jump on the ice swan, but that seemed to attract a bit of attention by the other guests who are seen in the background, invading our personal space.   Yo, can you guys cut a courting penguin a break and give us some privacy?!!

"Slapsheare" in Love ..

Stratford is such a romantic place ... so it was an easy decision to go there with Glammy Glacier!   I could not agree more with the Bard's quote "Love is merely a madness"!

More Adventures at Warwick Castle!

Adventures @ Warwick Castle

Our adventure continues ... Warwick Castle was a most interesting place.  We met so many nice people, with the exception of one who had a rather disagreeable disposition.  Glacie was a little intimidated, but I told her to fear not, and reassured her that I am her protector.     

Reunited in Stonehenge

Glacie accepted my invitation and we met up in Stonehenge.  She was a sight for sore eyes.  When I spotted her in the distance, I was captured by her beauty, and time stood still.  I could barely take it in, was I dreaming?  Did she really come all this way to meet up with me?  Surely I am the luckiest penguin in the world.

Planning my next adventure!

As you can imagine, I wasted no time replying to Glammy Glacier, proposing we get together real soon.  Appealing to her sense of adventure, I suggested we travel together to Stonehenge, by rail/bus.   I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!     

She likes me, she really likes me!!

Dear Slappy,

I find myself, surprisingly, missing you.  A penguin of my beauty and status has had to reject many a male penguin who have been way too forward with me, and I do not know why, but you do not fall into the category of never being called by me again.

There is something about you Slappy; it might be your height, or your attractive flippers, I don’t know, but I write you this letter in hope that maybe we can get together again.

Answer to Prayer!

Incredible!  My prayers have been answered!  This letter from arrived in the post this morning!

I'm soooo excited to open it but a little nervous too .... what will it say?

Now that my heart's been broken and I'm feeling so lonely, the thought of running away and joining the circus is tempting!

Tewkesbury Abbey

Spent a little time today reflecting on life at Tewkesbury Abbey.  Before leaving, I said a little prayer, and confessed I was a little too forward with Glammy Glacier.  Now I must move on with my life, it seems, without her.  

Daydreaming ....

Sitting here, alone, overlooking the sea, my thoughts drift to Glammy Glacier and how happy I'd feel if she were here to share this moment with me .... I imagine the two of us sitting together, flipper to flipper, cheek to cheek and my heart is warmed again.  But she's not here.  It's just a dream.

Sage advice from Sidney Snail

Travelled to the west coast of England this weekend and ran into my pal Sidney Snail.  Sid wanted to hear what I'd been up to, so naturally I told him about my Glammy Glacier, and how I totally "flipped out" over her.  Sid felt I should have "taken things slower" with Glammy before "coming out of my shell" with a public demonstration of affection.  Very sage advice indeed. 

Sympathetic ear

I just had to get out of the house, clear my head and think about how I'm going to win Glammy back.  I knew exactly where I had to go: out to the fields to talk to one of my most empathetic friends, Duncan Donkey, who was understandably very sad to hear my situation.  Duncan was at a loss for words as he's never been in love, or had his heart broken.  It didn't matter that he didn't say much; the best friends in life are those who are there for you, who listen and care.  As I continued my walk, the burden I carry felt a little lighter.  

Heart Broken!

Oh my gosh, I've really messed things up!  Things were going so well with Glammy.  We were really hitting it off and so much so, I foolishly thought my love for her would be reciprocated, so I made my move, planting a cheeky beaky kiss on her when she least expected it,  sitting in the tree.   Wrong move!  Glammy Glacier promptly informed me that she was not that sort of penguin,  informed me that she had to cut her visit with me short, and headed immediately to the train station.  I am completely gutted.    

Captured?

Truly, the only thing captured is my heart.
